Reporting Absences & Tardies

Call (650) 856-1726 or email ohloneattendance@pausd.org.

Parents must inform the Ohlone office of any late arrivals or absences. You may inform your classroom teacher as well, but must always inform the office, too. Please call (650) 856-1726 or email attendance by 8:20a.m. or ANYTIME prior -- voicemail and email are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week -- to leave information when your child will be absent or tardy to class.

If your child arrives at school after 8:15, please have him or her report to the office BEFORE proceeding to the classroom. This is your child's responsibility, not yours. Our office staff is very easy for the kids to talk to, so encourage and enable them to do it for themselves.

Absences due to medical reasons (illness or appointments), religious observances, and family emergencies are considered excused. Other absences such as family trips or outings, are unexcused according to District policy.

Late arrivals affect the entire class and should be kept to a minimum.

Repeated tardies mean lost instruction and fewer positive connection opportunities for both your student AND the whole class and teacher.  Please model responsible school citizenship and life skills by working collaboratively with your student to ensure on-time arrival at school on a regular basis.
